Areekode News is edited under the direction of Chief Editor Muhmmed Nuhman P. This page explains the standards we try to follow.
Accuracy and verification
- We report facts and identify sources wherever possible.
- Information from WhatsApp, social media, or public submissions is checked with a second source, an official, or the people involved before we publish it.
- We separate news reports from opinion and features.
Fairness
- We give people and organisations criticised in a report a chance to respond when practical.
- We avoid hate speech, communal incitement, and content that targets people for their religion, caste, gender, or community.
- Court cases and police matters are reported carefully. An accusation is not treated as a conviction.
Sensitive subjects
- We do not publish the identity of survivors of sexual offences, or the identity of children involved in legal matters.
- Reports on accidents, deaths, and crime avoid graphic images and respect families.
- Obituaries are published at the request of families or from verified sources.
Images and copyright
We publish photographs we take, receive with permission, or have the right to use. If you believe an image or text was used without permission, contact us and we will review and, where appropriate, remove it.
Advertising and sponsored content
Advertisements and sponsored posts are labelled clearly and are kept separate from independent news reporting. Advertisers do not control our news coverage.
Corrections and complaints

- We aim to review every complaint within 48 hours.
- Significant errors are corrected in the article with a note stating what was changed.
- Requests to remove personal information are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
